The story of Taramati Baradari is a romantic legend from Hyderabad's Qutb Shahi era, centered on courtesan-dancers Taramati and her sister Premamati, for whom Sultan Abdullah Qutb Shah built the 12-doored pavilion (baradari) so he could hear their music from his Golconda Fort palace two kilometers away. The structure, designed with masterful acoustics for cross-ventilation, became a place for royal entertainment, with the sisters performing for the king and travelers, even dancing on ropes.
